Today Is My Day Off
Today is my day off. As is every Wednesday.
I did the usual today, I slept in a little bit until 09:30. Got up. Had my usual Wheat-a-Bix. Although, I would usually treat myself to a sweet cereal on my day off, but I was out.
I couldn't muster up the energy to get dressed, walk to the petrol station and buy a sweet cereal. So I settled for the usual. Oh, and a cup of tea with one sugar. As usual.
Everything seems as usual at the moment.
The only thing that wasn't as usual this week is that I didn't stay at my boyfriends at the weekend. We'd already spent the previous weekend together and then Wednesday as well. Due to my wardrobe deciding to "Timber!" and fall over in my room, sending all the crap I'd shoved on top to spread everywhere.
A quick browse on Argos and I found a suitable replacement. A definite improvement. It was a grey wood wardrobe with 4 shelves on the righthand side and then a separate area for hanging clothes. I wouldn't be putting the doors on though, as I my room does not offer me the luxury of space to open and close them. There for it would be an open wardrobe.
I have to say I think it looks pretty good.
Last March I had moved quickly to where I am now, and had to hastily furnish my room. My bed was the priority, so a pop up wardrobe did the job. For just over a year until, well, it collapsed last week.
I used to be able to fill my days off with gaming and clothes washing and watching TV. But now I feel like I need to do something more productive on my days off. But then when I am working I look forward to my day off as a relaxing day. My mind just can't seem to agree with itself.
I also had the monthly task of getting my nails done today. I have acrylics, once a month. Varying from simple one colour on all to intricate nail art for special occasions such as Halloween or Christmas. It's one of only 'girly' things I do really. I attempted to go the nail shop about 13:15, however silly me forgot it is half term, and glancing through the window the shop was rather busy. So I took a detour two shops down to Birds Bakery and bought a coffee and a lemon tart. The lady behind the counter suggested I book an appointment. So here I am now waiting at home to go back to the nail shop at 4pm.
If I had had my headphones on me I could have dealt with the half an hour to 40 minute wait but I had left them at home. The shop is only 5 minutes down the road so I can't complain too much.
I had planned to come home and game on one of the many games I have downloaded on my laptop. But again, I found myself sat staring at my computer thinking there must be something more productive I can do.
I started googling for side hustles and easy ways to make money from home.
Then one website suggested making a blog.
Then I remembered I had created a blog nearly 8 years ago for when I went on a trip to Japan. And now here I am creating a new one.
To many people I am sure they will find the Ramblings of an Everyday Woman rather boring, but to the odd few people it might be something worth reading.
Regardless, my brain seems to think its a more productive way of spending my day off and it gives me some satisfaction to write a reflection and maybe even an analysis of my life.
So I've decided, I can't guarantee the frequency of my ramblings but with two days off a week, I would reckon I'll ramble on at least one of them. Who knows maybe it will become more frequent than that?
